David: After God’s Heart in Samuel & Psalms
In God’s word he describes David as a man after his heart. Let’s spend some time looking at the heart of David through his story in the books of 1st and 2nd Samuel and his writings in Psalms. I think we’ll see a rare humility, obedience, and faith that will challenge and encourage us.

Fall Connection Day: Saturday October 26th
Join us for a day of projects and an evening of fellowship! During the day we’ll gather as small groups to help one another out – many hands make light work, so we’ll work together to help our church family with yard work or other projects. Small group leaders will be in touch with their groups to discuss details, or if you aren’t connected with a small group yet, email info@discoverlivinghope.com for more information.
We’ll then gather at the Johnson’s house (5632 Salem Rd Ct SW Rochester) at 5pm for dinner and a bonfire. Brats/Hotdogs will be provided as a main dish. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Operation Christmas Child:
It’s that time of year again! We are collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a program to provide gifts to children in third world countries.We will have boxes and labels at church for anyone who wishes to pack a shoebox. Collection will be November 3-17, and each shoe box should have $10 to cover shipping (cash, check, or online). If you are not able to drop it off at church by then, contact Jackie Borseth (815-262-6369) to arrange a date and time between November 17-21.
Thanksgiving Potluck Feast: November 24th
Stay after the service on Sunday, November 24th for our annual Thanksgiving Potluck Feast! Bring a main dish and a side dish or dessert to share. Drinks and tableware will be provided.
