Church on the Move

The Empire Event Center (at the Best Western) has been a good spot for us but they’re unavailable November 14th and 21st so we’re taking those two weeks to do something a bit different. On November 14th we’ll be road tripping to La Crosse to Coulee Rock Church to join their service and pack food to send down to Venezuela. Fill out this form to sign up for packing food. More details here. Then on November 21st we’ll be meeting…

Mask Mandate Lifted!

Now that Minnesota and Rochester have lifted their mask mandates we are no longer asking folks to wear masks at our services or in our childcare. If you would still like to wear a mask, please do so. We understand many people may not be comfortable without one or have significant complications with COVID. As before, please screen yourself and stay home if you’re sick. We want to be as welcoming as we can be so if there is a…

The Gospel of John

The Bible has four different accounts of Jesus life and each of them is unique, bringing with it God’s inspiration through the author’s viewpoint and audience. Matthew, Mark and Luke contain a lot of corroborated information while John takes a different tack. John seeks to present Jesus as God. The others do that too but emphasize Jesus as King, Servant and Human as well. John leaves off many of the other common stories about Jesus and focuses in on a…

There will be a minimum of two adult volunteers to oversee each room of kids. For ages 2 and under, masks are not encouraged. For ages…

Prisoner of Joy

We’ve each got our set of trials, temptations and hardships. Are you a prisoner of your circumstances? We’re going to take a look at Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi. It is a very personal letter full of joy and peace with Paul’s circumstances. Yet he is very clear that he was a prisoner and might not be released. Paul was not a captive of his circumstances. He chose to believe that there was something more true than what…

Thanksgiving Thoughts

I’m thankful for God and you. We’re now entering our second round of COVID lockdown restricting our gatherings and social engagements. This has been tough on our church. Before the pandemic it felt like we had a lot of momentum coming into the spring but now if feels like we have been set back at least a year. We’ve had to re-figure out how to do church, music, childcare, refreshments, small groups and everything else at least a couple of…
