How do we know that what we do for the Lord is not in vain? This week we begin studying 1 Thessalonians, chapter 2. We will learn through the apostle Paul how to honor the Lord in our efforts to share the gospel with others.
1 Thessalonians 1:4-10
Paul Johnson takes us through the apostle Paul’s opening remarks about the Thessalonians. Paul encourages the Thessalonians in what they have been doing then we learn how this applies to our lives.
1 Thessalonians 1:1-3
Charlie teaches us about three of the fundamentals of following Christ and being a Christian. These are faith, love, and hope. He shows us how our faith produces work, love produces labor, and hope produces perseverance.
1 Peter 4:7 – 5:14
From a worldly perspective suffering is seen as a negative thing but we as believers can rest assured that suffering is a blessing from God used to strengthen our faith in Him. As we wrap up our study on 1 Peter, we see that we can rely on the hope that we have in Christ and our fellowship with other believers to carry us through trials and to encourage us as we look forward to Christ’s return.

Paul takes us through 1 Peter applying Peter’s words to our lives today. He speaks on government, relationships at work, at home, and between husbands and wives.

God made us to live in light of eternity, Charlie pulls out of 1 Peter the implications of living in light of this.
