Believe God – Genesis 15-16

Often it is difficult to have faith in the promises of our Lord. We struggle to believe that what He has promised us will be fulfilled. This week in Genesis, chapters 15-16, we see Abram’s faith in the promises of the Lord and how God fulfills His promises to His people, including us.

Genesis 9-11

Paul takes us through the next part of Genesis where the flood recedes, Noah comes off the ark. we also hear how people once again rebel against God by building a tower to make a name for themselves.

Genesis 3-4

This week we continue with our series: In the Beginning. Genesis 3 shares the darkest news yet offers the light of hope!

The Coming of the Messiah: God Comes to Earth

Sometimes we feel like the events in our lives are overlooked by God but just like He planned out every detail of Jesus’ birth, He has planned out every single moment of every day in our lives.  He sent a Savior born for you!  This week we study how God fulfilled His promises for us in the coming of Jesus Christ and why we are in need a Savior.

1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13

God does give us things we can’t handle ourselves but He rescued us.  Through Him we can trust that He solves our sin problem and helps us overcome it day by day.  This week we look at 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13 to learn how we can come together to support each other as we face the temptations and trials of this life.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-10

Paul Johnson takes us through the apostle Paul’s opening remarks about the Thessalonians. Paul encourages the Thessalonians in what they have been doing then we learn how this applies to our lives.

1 Peter 4:7 – 5:14

From a worldly perspective suffering is seen as a negative thing but we as believers can rest assured that suffering is a blessing from God used to strengthen our faith in Him.  As we wrap up our study on 1 Peter, we see that we can rely on the hope that we have in Christ and our fellowship with other believers to carry us through trials and to encourage us as we look forward to Christ’s return.
