Living Hope Retreat: Gospel Paradigm in a 21st Century Life
In our first session for the weekend we take a look at how the gospel paradigm correctly rotates our concept of love, our priorities, and our beliefs that people don’t want to hear the gospel.
The Birth of Hope
This week we look at some of the lesser known stories of Easter that demonstrate why we can place our hope and trust in God and the gift He gave through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus.
The Promised Son and the Sacrifice: Genesis 21-22
What do you put ahead of God in your life? Is it your kids, your hobbies, your time? The Lord asks us to lay those things before Him and make Him first in our lives. This week we look at Genesis chapters 21-22 to see the faith of Abraham when the Lord asked him to sacrifice his son and the faithfulness of our Lord to Abraham’s obedience.
The Promises Fulfilled – The Gospel of the Kingdom
This week we begin our study on the book of Matthew by digging into chapters 1 and 2. We see the beauty of the birth of Christ, the obedience of Joseph and Mary and the fulfillment of the promises of the Lord through his Son, Jesus.
The Coming of the Messiah: The story of Christmas
The world has taken Christ out of Christmas but the Bible tells us a different story. This week we begin a four week study of the Biblical story of Christmas.
1 Peter 4:7 – 5:14
From a worldly perspective suffering is seen as a negative thing but we as believers can rest assured that suffering is a blessing from God used to strengthen our faith in Him. As we wrap up our study on 1 Peter, we see that we can rely on the hope that we have in Christ and our fellowship with other believers to carry us through trials and to encourage us as we look forward to Christ’s return.
